Download our results hot tips document for a handy summary of all the key information about results and post-results services.
Unless you are notified otherwise, results will be available to centres from 00.01 the day before they can be released to candidates. See the timetables and key dates page for details.
OCR will not usually provide examination results directly to candidates. However, we reserve the right to inform candidates of their results in extreme circumstances upon satisfactory proof of identity.
Candidates must check personal details (e.g. legal name and date of birth) on their statement of results carefully as this information will be printed on their certificates. Any amendments should be made immediately.
For more information on receiving and interpreting results, including detailed information about UMS for GCSE, please refer to the Admin guides.
For more information about the A* grade at A Level, see our FAQ sheet below:
Each series, we produce a number of results statistics such as raw mark and UMS grade boundaries to support you as you interpret the provisional results and to help you when using our past papers and mark schemes.
These are provided in the results statistics area.
OCR is providing a text results delivery service for the January and June 2012 series, in addition to existing results services. The service will enable OCR AS and A2 unit and certification provisional results to be sent directly to candidates' mobile phones by text message.
Before certificates are issued, centres should check that candidates’ details are correct as, once they are issued, there will be a charge for personal detail amendments (e.g. to correct name misspellings). Amended certificates can be issued for six months, after which centres must apply for a certifying statement of results.
Amendment requests should be sent on letter-headed paper, along with the original certificate, to:
Data Capture (Historical Records)OCR, 1 Hills RoadCambridgeCB1 2EUIf certificates are lost by the centre, OCR can issue replacements for six months, after which centres must apply for a certifying statement of results.
To apply for a certifying statement, please complete and return the application form below. This form is for qualifications including AEA, Asset Languages, CEE, CSE, Entry Level Certificate, FSMQ, GCE A/AS Level, GCE O Level, GCSE, GNVQ (post 2000), STEP and VCE.
Please use the following guidance to help you fill in the application form:
It is the centre’s responsibility to forward certificates to its candidates in all cases. Certificates may be handed to the candidates; centres should obtain proof of identity and signatures confirming receipt. Alternatively, certificates may be posted to candidates by a traceable method (e.g. Recorded Signed ForTM), at the centre’s discretion and responsibility.
Centres are advised to retain certificates where there are any pending post-results services. If a grade changes following the completion of the post-results service, we can issue centres with an updated certificate, upon receipt of the original.
For a full list of conditions of issue, please refer to the Admin guides.
Unfortunately, there is a minority of people who make a living from selling certificate forgeries. In terms of the number of certificates produced and distributed to students each year, the issue thankfully remains small.
However, if you suspect fraudulent activities, please contact the police in the first instance. For further advice, contact the OCR Customer Contact Centre.
