To offer CBA for the Level 1 ITQ 2009 units above a centre has to be approved to deliver the ITQ 2009 qualification and be registered to use OCR Interchange.
To become approved to deliver the ITQ 2009 qualification complete the approval form and return it to OCR Operations in Coventry.
To register to use OCR Interchange download and complete an Interchange Agreement.
To submit work for CBA marking for the Level 1 ITQ 2009 units above a candidate has to sit the equivalent Level 1 New CLAiT 2006 unit assignment and then submit it in the ITQ 2009 context.
The following table shows the Level 1 ITQ 2009 units above and their Level 1 New CLAiT 2006 equivalent.
The Level 1 New CLAiT 2006 assignments and data files required are available to download from Interchange. There are four assignments for each unit that can be used for CBA: 2005/06 Set A, 2005/06 Set B, 2006/07 and 2007/08.
All entries have to be made electronically in OCR Interchange. For guidance on how to do this refer to the Making entries for vocational qualifications via Interchange guide.
Entries can be named or unnamed and for a specific ITQ 2009 qualification or for a unit from a specific ITQ 2009 qualification.
CBA fees are covered in the ITQ 2009 qualification/unit entries fees - there are no extra charges for choosing the CBA route. Please see the fees list for latest prices. There are no charges for re-sits.
The Level 1 ITQ 2009 units above can be taken and submitted for CBA marking at any time to suit the centre and learner.
The result of the CBA marking of the Level 1 ITQ 2009 units above is returned electronically to the centre within minutes. The CBA marking report for any candidate pass has to be retained and submitted to OCR as evidence when claiming the unit.
For any candidate that achieves a pass by CBA for the Level 1 ITQ 2009 units above the unit has to be claimed from OCR using the online claims system in Interchange. This system allows the centre to claim the candidate's unit and select which entry to use.
For further guidance on creating a claim using the online claims system refer to the Making online claims for vocational qualifications step-by-step guide.
For each candidate included in the claim an OCR ITQ (QCF) Submission Cover Sheet has to be completed indicating which unit is to be claimed.
Once the claim has been created the evidence (completed OCR ITQ (QCF) Submission Cover Sheet for each candidate and CBA marking report for each unit) has to be submitted to your allocated OCR examiner-moderator quoting the claim number. This can be done manually by post or electronically.
ITQ certificates will be processed more quickly if centres do not mix CBA claims with units using alternative evidence. It would also speed certificate production if the CBA reports were sent electronically to the OCR examiner-moderator, clearly stating in the email subject heading, CBA together with the centre number, scheme code and claim number of the reports attached.
To prepare the candidate's work for CBA marking a centre will need to use the ITQ candidate details form in Interchange and the CBA zipper.
The ITQ candidate details form allows for the creation of the candidate information file that has to be submitted with the candidate's work.
The CBA zipper has to be used to zip the candidate's work to be uploaded to the CBA marker in Interchange. The CBA zipper can be downloaded from Interchange and needs to be installed locally at the centre.
