The following guidance explains the reason for the outcome of a clerical check (Service 1) or a review of marking (Service 2 and priority Service 2), as provided in the outcome notification on Interchange. For reviews of moderation (Service 3), a report from the reviewing moderator is provided together with the outcome.
Ofqual’s changes to the regulations for reviews and appeals require awarding bodies to correct errors but not otherwise allow marks to be changed. Therefore, when a result changes, the type of error may be determined by the post-result service that had been requested, as detailed below:
