Following a review of our qualifications in light of the reform of general qualifications and changes to funding criteria, we are withdrawing the Level 3 Certificate in Mathematical Techniques and Applications for Engineers and Level 3 Certificate in Mathematics for Engineering. As a not for profit organisation, we offer as broad a range of qualifications to support teachers and students as possible. We regret the loss of any subject from our qualifications and recognise that these qualifications make a unique educational contribution to the curriculum. Despite this, due to on-going reform by government and the exams regulator, lack of recognition in school performance tables and declining entry numbers, we have made the difficult decision to withdraw these qualifications.
The final assessment (first time entries) for the Level 3 Certificate in Mathematical Techniques and Applications for Engineers, and the Level 3 Certificate in Mathematics for Engineering, will be June 2016.
We will continue to support and assess the qualifications up to the conclusion of the final assessment series:
Please note: there will not be a series in January 2017 for the Level 3 Certificate in Mathematics for Engineering (H860).
For centres looking for alternative qualifications, we would recommend the following:
