Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act promotes greater openness and accountability across the public sector by requiring all public authorities to make information available.

The Customer Contact Centre takes queries relating to the Freedom of Information Act.

  1. Any person who believes that Cambridge Assessment or OCR are not complying with their publication schemes under the Freedom of Information Act or who is unhappy with the way that their access request has been handled, or with the outcome of the consideration of the request, has the right to make a formal complaint if the issue cannot be resolved informally in discussion with the member of staff dealing with the original request. All other complaints should be addressed to the Director of Standards.
  2. Complaints relating to the Freedom of Information Act must be submitted in writing by letter or email to the Cambridge Assessment Group Finance Director, who may be contacted at:
    Mrs J Rippeth1 Hills RoadCambridgeCB2 1EUEmail: rippeth.j@cambridgeassessment.org.uk
We will respond to the complaint within 20 working days. The complainant will be advised that they have the right to complain directly to the Information Commissioner if they are dissatisfied with the outcome of the procedure.
  3. If the complaint relates to a request for information from the Finance Division, then it will be referred to another member of the Corporate Board for consideration. In the event that the Group Finance Director is unable to deal with a complaint (e.g. because of absence from illness), it will be handled by a member of the Corporate Board who does not have responsibility for the area covered by the original request.
