At OCR Cymru, we know how important funding is to you. We appreciate the impact that funding has on the plans of a school or college or training provider, and we engage with funding agencies as much as possible.
All qualifications approved by Welsh Government are eligible for funding and listed on the Database of Approved Qualifications for Wales (DAQW). Funding for delivery of qualifications in Wales is split into:
The previous system of government funding for Post-16 candidates was via the National Planning and Funding System (NPFS). This has now been suspended whilst Welsh Government decide on a new funding methodology for Wales. The interim measures that are currently in place make more allowances for Entry Level qualifications which are now funded on delivery time as opposed to by credit. Apprenticeships are now funded (as of 1 August 2011) in a system where providers are paid a set amount for completing full frameworks (rather than the previous system of funding individual qualifications) no matter how long the framework takes to complete.
We want to hear from you if your centre is having problems with funding when this relates to one of our qualifications. We cannot be held responsible for decisions made on education funding in Wales, but we can contact the relevant agency on your behalf.
Please contact us if you have funding concerns, queries or problems relating to any of our qualifications.
