The OCR Repository is part of a wider programme bringing digital technology to the assessment process. The aim is to provide simpler and easier administration for centres and facilitate the assessment process for assessors.
Centres will access the OCR Repository via OCR Interchange, find their candidate entries in their area of the Repository, and use the Repository to upload files (singly or in bulk) for access by their examiner or moderator.
As an assessor you can view candidate files singly in the Repository or download them into a compressed folder for viewing off-line.
No, it is not intended to be used for this purpose. Only completed work which is ready for assessment can be uploaded.
The OCR Repository can accept a wide variety of file types, including all MS Office files, .jpg, .mpg, .mp3, and pdf.
Open file formats or proprietary formats for which a freely downloadable reader or player is available are acceptable, but the centre has the responsibility to provide work in an accessible format.
The OCR Repository has a 'bulk upload' facility, which allows multiple files to be uploaded simultaneously. Just ensure that the filename is prefixed with the 4-digit candidate number and the OCR Repository will allocate the files to the correct candidates.
For all qualifications other than Environmental Land Based Science, centres have a choice as to whether they choose to use the OCR Repository. However, for each specification unit for which they enter, they must choose EITHER to enter all candidates for that unit under the Repository component code, OR under the postal component code.
