iTQ under spotlight at national event Tuesday 24 April 2007

The qualification designed to recognise employers' workforce skills requirements is set to be debated today, at the OCR-sponsored 2007 National iTQ Conference.

The conference, organised by e-skills UK, is expected to attract training providers, Local Authority and Sector Skills Council representatives, and Senior Managers in FE colleges.

Delegates will have an excellent opportunity to share their experiences. Representatives from OCR, e-skills UK and other awarding bodies are available for surgery support throughout the day. A sponsors' exhibition will provide delegates with practical advice on ITQ implementation.

Keynote speeches are expected to be heard from leading industry figures including Karen Price, CEO, e-skills UK; Paul Coby, Chief Information Officer, British Airways and Chair of e-skills UK CIO Board; Mike Baker, Senior Education Correspondent, BBC; Jane Williams, Executive Director, Becta; and Sharon Retson, Special Projects Manager, Tektra Ltd.

The conference is being held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Birmingham.
