Congratulations on A Level success Thursday 16 August 2007

OCR wishes to congratulate all those involved in achieving a successful set of A Level results, which were published today.

Teachers, examiners and, of course, the students themselves have worked extremely hard over the past year.

We appreciate the commitment required from teachers to guide students through A Level courses and help them achieve good grades.

Greg Watson, Chief Executive of OCR, said: "Once again these results show the rewards of hard work put in by teachers and pupils to prepare for the challenge of A Level examinations."

"Exams time of year is always a busy period for students and teachers – just as it is for examiners and exam boards! We all sincerely hope that the fruits of those labours will stand students in good stead for the future, whatever path they choose."

OCR has also been unstinting in its commitment to the success of the exams session for summer 2007. Here are some highlights:

  • 5,849,356 entries were registered across all subjects, including coursework and exam papers
  • 1,282,552 candidates entered exams with OCR
  • Approximately 4,000,000 scripts were marked by examiners

Statistics about A Level results nationwide can be accessed through the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) at www.qca.org.uk.
