Congratulations on GCSE success Thursday 16 August 2007

Congratulations to all students who have achieved successful GCSE results published today and to the teachers who helped them to their success

These exams are a huge challenge for hundreds of thousands of young people each year and today’s results recognise their hard work and application.

Greg Watson, Chief Executive of OCR, said: "GCSE examinations continue to challenge students, provide them with a broad education and prepare them for future studies, as well as introducing many skills for work and life."

"We congratulate all students who have met or surpassed their expectations - helped in no small part by their teachers - and hope they continue to be inspired at the next stage of their education or training."

Highlights of OCR’s summer 2007 exams session include:

  • 5,849,356 entries across all subjects, including coursework and exam papers
  • 1,282,552 candidates entering exams with OCR
  • Approximately 4,000,000 scripts marked by examiners
