Withdrawal of GCSE English and ICT with Functional Skills pilots Monday 3 September 2007

The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) has recently informed us that it does not intend to proceed with the pilots to embed the Functional Skills assessment within GCSEs. It will not therefore be accrediting awarding bodies to offer the pilot GCSEs from September 2007.

OCR will still be offering the standalone Functional Skills pilot. If you haven't yet registered your interest in joining this OCR pilot, simply complete our sign up form today. This standalone qualification will be compulsory for all learners taking the Diploma from 2008 and taking part in this pilot will also help to inform the development of English and ICT GCSEs for 2010.

If you have already completed the sign up form, you don't need to do anything; more information will be sent to you in September.
