GCSE Changes Expos a huge successTuesday 15 July 2008

Over the past two weeks more than 1,500 people attended OCR's free GCSE Changes Expos. Held in Newcastle, Coventry, Manchester and London, delegates had the opportunity to meet subject experts and take part in presentations covering all aspects of OCR's exciting new range of GCSEs.

Colin Black, Head of Customer Support, comments: "With more than 40 new GCSE specifications being introduced next year, there's a vast amount of information for teachers to take in. These events were designed to help those teachers gain a good understanding of our specifications by putting them directly in front of the people who have that knowledge at their fingertips.

"Feedback received has been excellent with delegates commenting that the information provided on the new controlled assessment was very helpful. OCR staff who attended and the subject specific staff have also been greatly praised which has helped boost our reputation with this extremely important audience."

OCR want to ensure that you are really supported through the changes. We are running over 400 INSET training events from now until the new GCSEs are delivered in September 2009. Our programme will be half day - understanding the changes and full day preparing for implementation training in each subject area. Both our Get Ready and Get Started training for our new GCSEs will be offered free of charge until September 2009.
