OCR Level 1 Nationals in ICT accreditedFriday 25 July 2008

OCR Level 1 Nationals in ICT will be available for teaching from September, after they were accredited this week. They are available as three separate qualifications:

  • National First Award in ICT Level 1 (120 guided learning hours)
  • National Award in ICT Level 1 (240 guided learning hours)
  • National Certificate in ICT Level 1 (360 guided learning hours)

This development completes the suite of OCR Nationals in ICT, joining the hugely popular Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications which were approved in March.

OCR Nationals in ICT are an exam-free alternative to GCSEs and A Levels used by nearly 2,000 schools and colleges.

These new Level 1 qualifications have been developed to provide candidates with an introduction to the skills, knowledge and understanding required to prepare for work in the information and communication technology sector. They also help candidates develop their team working, career planning, communication and problem solving skills.

The datasheet is available on the OCR Level 1 Nationals in ICT qualification page. Additional details will be available on this website soon.
