After the very positive response to the advance notification we gave last year for GCSE and A Level fees, we're pleased to do the same this year.
We've taken the view that we want to keep GCSE pricing for next year the same as this year with only a small adjustment for inflation. Given the present economic situation, and the fact that we've kept our increases for A Levels next year to 3%, the increase will be 4.84% on this years GCSE qualification suite (Full Course, Short Course and Applied).
| GCSE type | Total cost of GCSE qualification | Cost per unit |
|---|---|---|
| Full Course* | £26.00 | £6.50 |
| Short Course* | £13.00 | £6.50 |
| Applied | £52.80 | £17.60 |
*There are some exceptions where the unit price will be different - please view the fees list page for details.
Last year we published our A Level Fees for 2009/10, effectively notifying you of our A level prices two years in advance. The fees then were based on an assumed inflation rate of 3%. Despite the current economic climate and inflation running ahead of 3% we have decided to hold our fees to the figure we quoted previously, underlining our commitment to offering you the very best value for money
| Level | Units required for 'Full' Award | Unit fee | Total cost of qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| AS Level | 2 units | £17.30 | £34.60 |
| AS Level | 3 units | £13.30 | £39.90 |
| A2 Level | 4 units | £17.30 | £69.20 |
| A2 Level | 6 units | £13.30 | £79.80 |
There are some exceptions where the unit price will be different - please view the fees list page for details.
This is a time of intensive investment in modernisation and new qualifications for OCR but, as a not-for-profit organisation, we are still committed to keeping fees down as much as possible.
We will continue, wherever possible, to give you advance notification of pricing changes as far in advance as possible – we want to help you plan ahead at a time of many changes and uncertainty.
No action is required, this is advance notice to facilitate your financial planning for 2009/10. For current fees please view the fees list page.
