A celebration of colleges begins this week, in the first national Colleges Week.

Colleges Week is focusing on five themes and colleges around the country are hosting their own celebrations and skills challenges.

The themes will demonstrate the impact colleges have on developing skills, delivering excellence, building strong communities, helping businesses to succeed and transforming lives.

Colleges Week is being led by the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS) and the Association of Colleges.

Colleges Week will culminate on Friday with a series of skills challenges around the country.
