OCR is pleased to confirm that our new Cambridge Nationals in ICT, Health and Social Care, and Science are confirmed on the final list of qualifications that will count in the 2014 KS4 performance tables. The final version of the list was published by the DfE on Friday 16 March. The March list of qualifications replaces one published in January 2012.
This applies to courses taught from September 2012. However the achievements of Year 9 candidates who started Level 2 OCR Nationals in Business, Health and Social Care, ICT, Science and Sport in the 2011/12 academic year will also count in the 2014 tables. (Please note, this does not include the Level 2 National Short Course and First Awards in ICT).
Qualifications that do not appear on the March list will not be eligible for the 2014 performance tables.
The DfE plans to update the list of eligible qualifications on an annual basis each autumn. In November 2012, a list of qualifications that will count in the 2015 performance tables, for teaching from September 2013, will be published.
OCR believes in a balanced curriculum and supports the DfE's advice to schools to continue to offer qualifications which are not included on the list if they reflect the interests and abilities of individual students.
