OCR's GCSE Geography A is now accredited for teaching from September 2012. The new specification and sample assessment materials are now available.
This means our full suite of GCSE Geography qualifications, including GCSE Geography B and our GCSE Geography (short course) is ready to go for the new term.
All awarding bodies were asked in January 2012 to revise their GCSE Geography specifications for teaching this autumn. This was in addition to the move from modular to linear assessment, and the introduction of marks for spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPaG) from September 2012.
We've taken this opportunity to make improvements to the structure, content and assessment of our specifications, while recognising teachers' needs to manage change:
The new specifications continue to offer students an understanding of both human and physical geography, enabling them to make sense of their dynamic world.
Further support materials will be available as soon as possible.
