OCR was pleased to sponsor a recent round-table event hosted by TES.
OCR’s Qualifications Group Manager, Phill Bryant was among 11 computing experts, including representatives from schools, universities, gaming publishers and other computer science organisations, who came together to discuss "Coding the future – is computer programming a 21st century literacy?"
Some of the key messages from the lively talk included how to attract learners to the subject, how the curriculum should challenge practical skills and how it should be made enjoyable in order to educate the digital workforce of the future. You can watch the discussion in full on the TES website.
You can catch up with computing champion Phill on his blog where he discusses a range of topics from coding and programming to diversity in computing, e-safety and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). Phill will also host two #computinghour sessions in the autumn; these sessions are a great opportunity to network with like-minded people to discuss computing and ICT in schools.
