OCR is delighted to be sponsoring the Big Bang Fair at the NEC in Birmingham (13 - 16 March 2014).
The Big Bang is the largest celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) for young people in the UK. Opened by Education Minister Elizabeth Truss, this free event is primarily aimed at young people aged 7 to 19, as well as teachers. It is designed to highlight the many options and opportunities available in schools and for future careers.
With relevant and exciting qualifications and resources, OCR is committed to supporting the growth of this dynamic sector. For example, with input from the JCB Academy, the Royal Academy of Engineering and SEMTA, we've launched new Cambridge Nationals in Engineering qualifications which cover the broad range of engineering skills and knowledge. Four separate qualifications cover engineering principles, design, manufacture as well as systems and control in engineering, and give schools delivering the Ebacc, the opportunity to contextualise technical study aligned with GCSEs in maths and science.
Come and see the exciting ‘Mars Robot’ and 3D printer on OCR stand (TS6), or get involved in the Raspberry Pi seminars about supporting the STEM curriculum, taking place across the four day event.
