Four OCR workshops offering customers an open forum to explore key issues ahead of the full implementation of the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF) in January 2011 took place in early March.
The workshops, two in London and two in Manchester, provided delegates with information about the wider policy issues involved and outlined how OCR is managing the transition of existing qualifications from the National Qualification Framework and that no unexpected gaps in provision occur.
A demonstration of the web based QCF migration guide, What's New - Your guide to qualification migration to the QCF, was positively received by delegates who felt it was clear and easy to understand. They were especially pleased when advised that the information within would be reviewed and updated regularly over the coming months.
Liz Green, Head of Post 19 Qualifications at OCR, said: "Events like these are an important part of our plans to keep customers informed of the changes that are currently taking place and will be taking place from now until January 2011. The timescale for implementation is very tight and it is important centres have the most up to date information available to them so that they can plan accordingly. With successful implementation dependent upon so many different and independent organisations, it is vital that we provide our customers with information that is trustworthy, timely and easy to access. OCR will be developing a range of further initiatives in the coming months to keep customers up to date with key developments throughout the implementation of the QCF."
