Over 800 people recently attended a series of expo and roadshow events about the OCR Nationals in ICT, Level 2. The events were held in Newcastle, Leeds, Cardiff, Bristol, London, Manchester and Birmingham.
The ICT Level 2 Nationals have recently been revised and re-accredited with certification until 31 December 2014.
Managers and deliverers from schools and colleges attended the events to receive information about the recent changes. The key aim of the event was to enable deliverers to know how and when to implement the revised qualifications.
The old specifications can only be entered until 31 July 2010. This date is critically important for all deliverers of the qualification, as after that time new candidates will only be able to be registered on the new specifications.
The decision as to which candidates to enter for which specification is important. The new qualifications have a different number of units, a different number of guided learning hours and revised and clarified marking criteria. However, the teaching content remains fundamentally the same for all but the mandatory unit.
