Open the Assessor Recruitment site. You can search for relevant opportunities using keywords or by selecting OCR from the Business Unit and then selecting View Jobs. This will produce a list of opportunities that match your search criteria. Select Action and Apply to take you to the log in page and follow the instructions..
Once you have chosen the subject which best matches your experience select apply. You will be asked which level you wish to be considered for within the application. Please select the level that best matches your experience and that you have the confidence to mark.
It is possible to mark if you live outside the UK but you must hold a bank account in your country of residence. Also, you must be able to attend meetings (should they be required for your unit). Attending these meetings will be at your own expense.
If your task involves visiting centres, you will need to provide details of two referees within your application. /a>.
Preferred referees would be your current head of department and the headteacher at your current centre.
Please note that you must contact us prior to making an application if:
This depends on the unit you are marking. On average, examiners are allocated between 150 and 400 scripts per unit depending on the type of script you are marking. When marking on-screen, scripts are drawn down from a common script pool, so your allocation is in fact a marking target, rather than a specific group of scripts reserved for you personally.
Remuneration varies per unit, based on the amount of time marking that script is likely to take. Details of the exact fees would be given in any invitation to mark for a specific series.
We aim to inform you of the outcome of your application within 3 weeks. If you are successful your details will be added to our list of approved assessors. Our deployment team would then contact you with further details as an appropriate opportunity becomes available. Invitations for marking will usually be sent from December through to May dependent upon the requirements for each unit.
Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee marking for a particular series. However, if we have been unable to offer you anything for the forthcoming series you would remain on our list for consideration for the next available series.
