Cambridge Progression

Internally assessed units 2013/2014 - 9P13

Basedata for internally assessed units (Entry Level qualifications and Level 1 and 2 English) has been made available for the whole year. The entries should come under the September series, 9P13 where 9 denotes September, P denotes Cambridge Progression and 13 represents the calendar year which may need to be created within your management information system.

Examined Units 2014/15

Basedata for the examined units for all Entry Level, Levels 1 and 2 for each examination series will be available to download from the entry opening date for each series. The correct series code must be submitted in the entries file.

To enable you to submit all of your entries in one EDI file, the internally assessed units will also be included in the series specific basedata.

Essential Skills Wales are the qualifications that replaced Key and Basic skills in Wales in September 2010. They are only available in Wales. Please ensure you are approved for these qualifications before making entries. Please note that entries cannot be withdrawn or amended once submitted.

Basedata for Essential Skills qualifications (Application of Number, Communication and ICT) has been made available for the whole year. The entries should come under the September series, which may need to be created within your management information system.

Functional Skills

Basedata is now available to download from the OCR  for the whole year, for all assessments both Internally Assessed and Tested.  The entries should come under the November series, BF13 (where B denotes November, F denotes Functional Skills entries, and 13 represents the calendar year), which may need to be created within your management information system.

Issue number 5

11 August 2014: We have identified an error with the discount codes for GCSE English (J350) and GCSE English Language (J355). These have now been corrected (J350 is amended to FK2A and J355 is amended to FK2B). If you have entries for J350 and/or J355, please download the revised basedata below to ensure that your management information system is up to date. This will not affect the issue of your results, but is required to allow accurate reporting.

June 2014 series 6b - z6b14_01 (format version 14)

Basedata for importing legacy results files

You can use the following basedata if you wish to import the results for the legacy qualifications (last entry 31 August 2012) into your management information system (MIS).

Please note that you must not make entries for the legacy qualifications (any entries made in error for these qualifications will be rejected). However, top-up entries will be accepted.

Centres using SIMS can use the following basedata to import results for OCR Nationals into the summer season of your management information system (MIS). Instructions on how to do this have also been provided.

Please note that you must not make entries for the legacy qualifications (any entries made in error for these qualifications will be rejected).

Using the correct EDI file format

The current version of the JCQ EDI Formats is Version 14. Before you import basedata for 2013/14, please ensure that you install the latest version of the management information system you use to administer examinations.

Basedata instructions

Download each set of files, extract all of the constituent files to a suitable directory and then use the import or update feature in your examinations software to add the new basedata.

Which file should I choose?

Choose the .exe self-extracting zip file if you use Windows 95 or later. Double-clicking on the downloaded file will automatically extract the relevant files.

Choose the .zip file if you use Windows 3.1 and then use a zip program such as WinZip or PKZip to extract the files.

Please note: These executable and self-extracting .zip files may contain viruses that could harm your computer. OCR has checked for viruses using commercial virus-checking software but by downloading and opening these files you agree that OCR shall not be liable for any damage or loss caused in the event that the file contains a virus or other harmful component.

OCR cannot answer any questions on the use of SIMS or any other exams software packages.
