OCR is currently reforming its general qualifications in line with the government programme of reform. However, awarding bodies have made the difficult decision not to redevelop the AS and A Level Leisure Studies qualifications.
GCSE, AS and A Level qualifications in travel, tourism and leisure studies are not currently being redeveloped by any awarding bodies. However, centres may wish to look on the Ofqual Register of Regulated Qualifications for information on vocational qualifications in this subject area.
Throughout the course, students develop all the necessary skills required in Leisure Studies and apply these within work-related contexts. The course provides a suitable foundation for further study in NVQ areas such as management, accounting, sports administration, or higher education, or even for further training whilst in employment. Previous study of the subject is not essential.
