Overview

This course forms part of the vocationally-focused GCEs. This more broad-based qualification provides a more vocational perspective by incorporating learning approaches and activities which reflect the current-working practices. The course also offers students, the choice to personalise their path of study and obtain a qualification that meets both their individual aptitudes and interests.

Prior study of the subject at GCSE level may benefit the student but it is not essential. However, students are expected to have some experience in drawing, use of art and design media and an ability for ICT.

The course offers a sound foundation and prepares students to enter a variety of degree level courses in subjects related to Art and Design.
