Overview

This specification gives learners the opportunity to develop a multi-disciplinary approach to the Performing Arts as they expand their imagination, sensitivity and artistic knowledge of dance, drama and music.

Benefits to you and your learners of teaching this qualification

  • There's a great focus on practical work with the opportunity for learners to perform existing pieces and devise original material of their own.
  • Practical performance skills are assessed at both AS and A2 levels and an examiner will visit your centre at A2 level.
  • It cuts the assessment burden on learners with the number of units reduced to 4 (2 at AS, 2 at A2).
  • New practitioners and topics give candidates more variety.
  • This new specification is excellent preparation for learners wishing to pursue careers in or around the performing arts, or to study them at higher levels.
