Yes, we will provide year 10 practice papers for our GCSE (9-1) Gateway Science and GCSE (9-1) Twenty First Century Science suites.
For the Gateway Science Suite:
For the Twenty First Century Science Suite:
The papers have been released on Interchange, there are links on the qualification pages or you can use the codes below.
The papers will be available in April 2017.
The OCR year 10 practice papers will be provided free of charge.
There will be one set of OCR year 10 practice papers in science, but these will be held securely on Interchange so that you can use the material each year.
For each of Gateway Biology A, Chemistry A and Physics A, there will be one 90 mark paper, 45 marks at foundation tier and 45 marks at half higher tier level to include both multiple choice and structured questions.
For Gateway Combined Science A, there will be one Biology paper, one Chemistry paper and one Physics paper, each of 60 marks, 30 marks at foundation tier and 30 marks at higher tier to include both multiple choice and structured questions.
For each of Twenty First Century Biology B, Chemistry B and Physics B, there will be one 90 mark paper, 45 marks at foundation tier level and 45 marks at higher tier level to include both breadth and depth style questions.
For Twenty First Century Combined Science B, there will be one Biology, one Chemistry and one Physics, each of 60 marks, 30 marks at foundation tier level and 30 marks at higher tier level, all structured questions, and one Combined Science paper of 45 marks, one 15 mark question at low demand, one 15 mark question at standard demand and one 15 mark question at higher demand, all structured questions.
OCR will not be marking the papers, but a full mark scheme will be provided so that you can use the tests flexibly and mark them yourself. This will mean that you will have instant feedback as to how your learners are progressing. You will be able to upload your results to our results analysis service.
The intention is that all students sit the whole paper (both foundation and higher sections). This will give you an indication of the level of the student and which tier they should be entered for in the live exam in summer 2018.
You can sign up to be kept informed, but will need access to Interchange, our secure area, to get access to the papers.
The papers will not have grade boundaries assigned as the results will not go through standardisation.
The results analysis schemas have been released on Interchange, there are links on the qualification pages or you can use the codes below.
Results will be uploaded using a Proforma (Excel spreadsheet) that will be released separately on Interchange, with direct links provided from the qualification pages. We will also update the practice paper information to explain how to return results to OCR.
