Overview

This course is designed to develop students' skills in learning, enabling them to build on their experiences of working on their own with reference sources to complete tasks independently, organising their own work and working in a group to complete a group task.

This course is suitable both for students going on to do NVQ or other vocationally-related qualifications and for those needing to build skills in working with others and in independent project work. Learning skills (Entry 3) is available as part of the NQF framework now.

Specification aims

The aims of this specification are to:

• Develop students' knowledge of sources of information and to develop skills in using sources of information effectively.
• Develop students' ability to plan and carry out tasks independently in learning contexts.
• Develop students' ability to work as part of a team in learning contexts.
• Develop students' skill in organising their work.
