Functional Skills are practical skills in English, Maths and ICT that help learners gain the most out of work, education and everyday life. OCR is running a three year pilot for Functional Skills in all three subjects at all levels - Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2.
Functional ICT encourages learners to use technology in ways which make them effective and involved as citizens and enable them to operate confidently in life and work in a wide range of contexts.
All learners aged 14 and above, including young people and adults would benefit from functional ICT in order to find, select and bring together relevant information and use ICT to develop, interpret and exchange information for a purpose.
The Sample Assessment Materials for ICT will aid your understanding and assist in the delivery of Functional Skills. Sample Assessment Materials for Entry Level will be available shortly.
In order to use ICT effectively in everyday life, learners must demonstrate that they can confidently apply, combine and adapt their ICT knowledge to new situations in their life and work. Learners must also demonstrate that they understand the role that ICT plays in the world and use ICT in ways that enable them to function as effective citizens.
