Last year the Government confirmed that unitised GCSEs, will be replaced by linear assessment for all candidates starting a two-year course from September 2012.
In addition to these changes we have also made some additional amendments to improve the structure of the assessment to meet the new requirements.
Controlled assessment materials for GCSE specifications are available to download from Interchange. Controlled Assessments for unitised specifications are still valid for linear specifications.
Ofqual previously confirmed changes to be made to all GCSEs offered by all awarding bodies in England for teaching from September 2012. We are currently removing outdated specifications from the OCR website.
All teachers delivering OCR GCSEs should now be using the specifications marked as ‘from 2012’ after the subject e.g. for GCSE ‘Computing – J275 (from 2012)’.
Note: Past papers, mark schemes and examiner reports for outdated specifications are still available on the 'from 2012' version of the qualification and our past papers material finder.
The great thing about this qualification is that it brings a fresh approach to the subject, making it easier to teach and more enjoyable for learners.
