GCSE (for first teaching in 2009) Gujarati - J734

What are the changes?

While we've made some important changes and improved our GCSEs, we haven't changed everything. Here you can see which aspects of GCSE Gujarati are changing, and which will stay the same.

What changes?

What stays the same?

Structure

  • Short course allows candidates to be assessed on just their best skills
  • Candidates can now retake units
  • All papers are un-tiered.
  • All four skills are assessed separately
  • Each skill has equal weighting.

Content

  • New broader topics allow students to use language in a way that is meaningful to them
  • There is a more detailed and updated vocabulary list.
  • Some topics remain the same.

Assessment

  • There is no internal assessment
  • Speaking can be recorded and submitted digitally.
  • The assessment objectives remain the same.
