Our Get Ready events offer a taste of the new specification. You can book your place now using the following methods:
Get Ready - introducing the new specification (first teaching from September 2009)
This course help you find out more about the new specifications, whether you are a new or experienced teacher. It's open to you, even if you don't teach the current OCR specifications.
It's a FREE half-day session with refreshments and a light finger buffet. You'll receive a selection of course materials and an overview of the new OCR GCSE specifications.
The session includes:
- A look at the new structure, content and assessment methods
- A comparison between old and new specification content
- An introduction to the support and resources available from us
- A summary of the benefits of choosing the new OCR specification.
Get Started - towards successful delivery of the new specification
This course will help you, whether you are a new or experienced teacher or a centre assessor who will be teaching our Latin specification.
It's a full-day course which will provide essential information, guidance and practical support for newly qualified teachers or teachers new to the OCR GCSE Latin specification.
It will:
- Explain the requirements of the specification
- Review the assessment criteria and their application
- Explain the requirements of the assessment process
- Consider the collation of appropriate evidence for portfolio building
- Discuss the presentation of learner portfolios
- Review exemplar candidate work
- Offer advice on preparing learners for external assessments
- Explain the administrative procedures.

- Free OCR Training courses will not incur any penalty fees however, so that we can offer your place to another delegate please notify us in good time of your course cancellation.
- Dates are subject to change so please ensure you read your booking confirmation and web updates as OCR Training cannot be held responsible for delegates who attend on an incorrect date.
- Courses throughout summer 2008 and autumn 2008 terms may be based on the draft specification.

- Delegates may attend an AM only session, PM only session or both AM and PM sessions, where two different specifications are being covered on the same day.
- On your booking form, you must put course codes for all sessions you wish to attend, failure to do so may result in you being booked onto incorrect sessions.
