Overview

If you are already teaching Latin you can compare current and revised specifications on the What are the changes? page.

If your learners are interested in the ancient world and how the Romans have influenced our lifestyle today, this specification is for you. Our new specification gives students the opportunity to study elements of the language, literature and culture of the Roman world.

Now with the opportunity to be more flexible, you can choose to take a linear or staged approach to assessment and new to this specification is the short course – available for students with less time and still allowing them to achieve a qualification.

Benefits to you and your learners of teaching this qualification

  • Learners have the opportunity to study elements of language, literature and culture of the Roman world
  • For the first time the specifications are unitised – this gives you the choice to do linear or staged assessment
  • Short course is now available
  • The units in these specifications are tiered. Learners may combine units taken at different tiers
  • Computer-based testing is now available for Unit A401.
