Overview

OCR has developed iMedia qualifications in consultation with partners in industry, further education and schools. It has been designed as a route into, or further development of skills in, a wide range of job roles within the dynamic interactive media industry.

OCR iMedia qualifications are appropriate to those working as, or preparing to work as: web designers, graphic artists, multimedia producers, animators, sound designers and storyboards.

iMedia is offered at Levels 1, 2 and 3, and students have the option to achieve a certificate or diploma for each level. A certificate comprises three units with the diploma comprising five units; both options must include the mandatory unit.

OCR Level 1 Certificate/Diploma for iMedia users is aimed at those:

  • in full-time education who wish to gain access to the iMedia industry
  • in employment who wish to develop skills in one or more specialist areas in order to meet the requirements of their workplace situation and job role
  • following part-time courses for skill development or recreational purposes

OCR Level 2 Certificate/Diploma for iMedia users is aimed at those:

  • in employment who wish to develop skills in one or more specialist areas
  • in education who wish to gain access to the iMedia industry
  • wanting to use these skills for recreational purposes

OCR Level 3 Certificate/Diploma for iMedia users is aimed at those:

  • already working in a media/design/advertising related job
  • looking to develop their skills and enhance career progression
  • looking to formalise current knowledge with an industry benchmark
