Overview

This qualification is about providing support to clients who are setting up or developing small scale businesses. This qualification will recognise candidates' existing skills and will develop the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to provide business support.

Benefits

  • This qualification has been accredited onto the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) at Level 4 and, as such, is eligible for public funding.
  • There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification
  • Like all NVQs, this qualification is competence-based. This means that it is linked to a person's ability to competently perform a range of tasks connected with their work.
  • This NVQ is designed to reflect the work of candidates who undertake business support activities at Level 4 working with people who are setting up or developing small scale enterprises. It is suitable for candidates who:

    • have advisory relationships with clients
    • are involved in small business support
    • advise clients to help them meet their business needs
    • are in an advisory job role ie small business advisor

    To achieve this qualification, candidates must achieve eight mandatory units.

    Like all NVQs this qualification is competence based. This means that it is linked to the candidate's ability to competently perform a range of tasks connected with their work. Candidates plan a programme of development and assessment with their assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove that they are competent and knowledgeable in their work role.
