Overview

The OCR Level 3 NVQ in Learning, Development and Support Services for Children, Young People and Those who Care for Them is designed to reflect the activities and responsibilities of candidates who work with children, young people and those who care for them. The qualification will identify common areas of work such as health and safety, protection, networks and individual pathways for:

• Education Welfare
• Supporting Young People
• Learning Mentors
• Also a variety of optional units that allow for the recognition of specialist functions and also the flexibility to move across occupational areas.

To achieve the full award in this qualification, candidates must complete nine units, including five mandatory units, two optional units and two specialist pathway units. Candidates choose the optional and specialist pathway units, which best suit their work situation and job role.
