Structure for OCR Nationals Level 2 qualifications

OCR Level 2 Nationals are suited to 14-16 year olds thinking of leaving school, but especially those who are not quite sure what path they would like their career to take.

If they see their skills and interests as suited to one of the nine industry sectors covered, an OCR Level 2 National allows them to make a broad sector choice without necessarily needing to specialise in one particular area.

It will provide the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to start work, or progress to further study and is therefore equally suited to individuals aged 16+.

Level 2: Diagram of Certification

The OCR Level 2 Nationals contain two types of qualifications (not ICT*), one building on the previous.

• To achieve the Award you have to achieve two mandatory units and complete one optional unit.
• To achieve the Certificate you have to complete 6 units consisting of the four mandatory units and two optional units.

For the full OCR Level 2 National First Award in ICT, candidates must achieve unit 1 plus one optional 30 glh unit.

For the full OCR Level 2 National Award in ICT, candidates must achieve unit 1 plus two optional 60 glh units
or
unit 1 plus one optional 60 glh unit plus two optional 30 glh units.

For the full OCR Level 2 National First Certificate in ICT, candidates must achieve unit 1 plus three optional 60 glh units plus one optional 30 glh unit
or
unit 1 plus two optional 60 glh units plus three optional 30 glh units.

For the full OCR Level 2 National Certificate in ICT, candidates must achieve unit 1 plus five optional 60 glh units
or
unit 1 plus four optional 60 glh units plus two optional 30 glh units
or
unit 1 plus three optional plus four optional 30 glh units.
