GCSE Geography reforms

In addition to the requirements of linear assessments for all GCSEs from September 2012 and the introduction of SPaG from January 2013, all awarding bodies are required to submit all GCSE Geography specifications for re-accreditation as requested by Ofqual . This is so they can be sure that the specifications meet all of the regulatory requirements, make clear the full course of study required of candidates and check that the assessment arrangements support this.

Our Geography A and B specifications currently have units with pre-release booklets and we are considering several options in order to determine the best way to take this forward, and have submitted our proposals to Ofqual.

Following recent feedback, we continue to work closely with Ofqual to make the necessary adjustments to our specifications.
