This course is specifically designed to meet the needs of students for whom GCSE Science is not appropriate. Although designed to be an alternative to GCSEs, it is assessed using similar mark schemes to those in the legacy OCR GCSEs, allowing the possibility of some students being entered as late as February of Year 11, for the Foundation Tier of an OCR GCSE Science course.
