Foundation Learning

From September 2010 all local authorities must demonstrate provision of Foundation Learning. If government policy remains the same by September 2013 Foundation learning will become an entitlement.

What is Foundation Learning?

Foundation Learning is a programme of learning, built around three distinct strands This is not an additional requirement rather an approach that seeks to give the learner a coherent offer made up as follows:

Personal and Social Development (PSD) Qualifications

Vocational Qualifications

Foundation Learning is a personalised pathway for a learner to help them achieve their life goals; access to Level 2 study and/or employment.

Does OCR offer Foundation Learning?

Yes, OCR offers a range of high quality qualifications, units and components in all three of the above strands for learners to study. Learners can combine these OCR components with other qualifications to complete their personalised study plan. OCR qualifications offer the learner flexibility and choice.
