Overview

GCSE Science A has an emphasis on scientific literacy – the knowledge and understanding that learners need to recognise the impact of science and technology on everyday life. There are two alternative routes to achieve GCSE Science A:

• Route 1 using Unit 1 from each of Biology A, Chemistry A and Physics A (separate science papers)
• Route 2 using Units 1, 2 and 3 of Science A (mixed science papers).
