Overview

The revised OCR Level 2 Nationals in Media have been accredited by QCA for first delivery from 1 September 2007.

The following summarises this enhanced provision:

  • Revisions to units 2 and 3.
  • New unit in web authoring and design.
  • A new 3 unit qualification, the OCR Level 2 Award in Media, which draws from the same pool of units as the Certificate.

These qualifications are designed to recognise candidates' skills, knowledge and understanding of the media sector. Suitable for pre- and post-16 candidates, they will provide a high quality, industry-recognised qualification.

Developed in consultation with the sector, these qualifications allow candidates to select from a range of optional units. Its flexibility also enables candidates to achieve individual units or a full qualification: Award or Certificate, according to their needs.

Progression to further qualifications, such as the OCR Level 3 Nationals in Media, is a likely route.

Alternatively, this qualification is designed to enable candidates to enter employment at a trainee level. However, employment in most media-related areas usually involves progression to specialist Level 4 qualifications.
