This qualification is intended for those involved in the co-ordination of learning programmes for individuals and groups, who identify and agree learning aims and programmes for individuals, designing learning programmes to meet their needs.

OCR offers a range of NVQs in Learning and Development, which develop and recognise the competency of staff working at all levels within this sector. OCR also offers vocationally-related unit based awards, which reflect discrete roles in the delivery, assessment and verification process.

Competence based

Like all NVQ (NQF)s this qualification is competence based. This means that it is linked to the candidate's ability to competently perform a range of tasks connected with their work. Candidates plan a programme of development and assessment with their assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove that they are competent and knowledgeable in their work role.
