Overview

Sport and Recreation NVQs are suitable for people working in the field of Sport and Recreation.

The Activity Leadership Level 2 NVQ is suitable for those working in either the outdoors or in sports development, operating at 'assistant instructor' (or equivalent) level, they will be capable of planning and delivering sessions and carrying out related duties with limited supervision, but within a controlled environment. To achieve the full award, candidates must complete seven units, including five mandatory units and two optional units.

Competence based

Like all NVQ (NQF)s this qualification is competence based. This means that it is linked to the candidate's ability to competently perform a range of tasks connected with their work. Candidates plan a programme of development and assessment with their assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove that they are competent and knowledgeable in their work role.
