Overview

This qualification has been re-developed for the QCF and replaces the existing Level 2 NVQ in Plant Operations which expires for registration on 31/12/10.

This qualification is suitable for you if you operate one of the wide variety of lift trucks in common use. You must have completed basic operator training in accordance with the approved code of practice issued by the Health and Safety Commission before you start assessment.

To achieve the full qualification, you must complete the 2 mandatory units plus the required number of units in each pathway.

This qualification is competence based. This means that it is linked to the candidate's ability to competently perform a range of tasks connected with their work. Candidates plan a programme of development and assessment with their assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove that they are competent and knowledgeable in their work role.
