The qualification is vocationally-related and credit-based and made up of three units, all of which are mandatory but which don’t have to be achieved in any particular order. All assessment of a candidate’s performance must take place within the workplace; observation should be of naturally-occurring practice within the candidate’s work role. The qualification may also benefit 16-18 year olds who want to go on to teacher training or become learning assistants.
