Changes to the Teacher Qualifications Framework in the Lifelong Learning Sector

From September 2007, all new entrants to teaching in the sector will be required to complete a new award which will prepare them to teach. This is a small introductory course which will give a threshold status to teach.

Extended registration and certification end dates

OCR is pleased to confirm that this qualification has been extended. The registration end date is now 31 March 2009 and the certification end date is 31 March 2012.

It has been developed to meet the requirement that all new support staff for adult literacy must hold a subject support qualification endorsed by the Further Education National Training Organisation (FENTO).
