Overview

The OCR Level 4 Certificate for Adult Numeracy Subject Specialists has been developed to recognise the knowledge and skills demonstrated by those who work as specialist teachers of numeracy. It has been designed to develop and accredit awareness of the wider social and learning issues related to the development of numeracy skills, including insight into the learning difficulties and disorders that challenge some learners. The qualification will also promote the development of a higher level of personal numeracy.

The qualification aims to develop candidates' skills and knowledge and to recognise their achievements in a practical way that is relevant to the work context. It is anticipated that much of the practical evidence required to meet the assessment requirements of the qualification will be naturally occurring.
