Overview

The OCR Level 3 Award in Business Enterprise provides candidates with a high quality, industry-recognised award. It is a vocationally-related qualification that provides valuable opportunities for individuals to develop skills and gain underpinning knowledge and understanding which will support them in the setting up of a business.

This qualification specifically aims to:

• Develop critical advanced understanding of the enterprise environment through guided learning and practical experience.
• Develop critical understanding of the factors affecting the success of a business enterprise.
• Recognise candidates' advanced understanding of the enterprising essentials required of all potential entrepreneurs.
• Provide candidates with some of the high level skills, knowledge and understanding required to set up their own business.

In order to achieve the OCR Level 3 Award in Business Enterprise candidates must achieve a minimum of nine credits. These consist of one mandatory credit plus a minimum of eight credits from the optional list. The Mandatory unit is detailed below:

Candidates must achieve a minimum of five credits of the remaining credit value from the Level 3 optional units. Candidates must achieve the remaining optional, credit value (a minimum of three credits) by successfully completing optional units from either the Level 2 or Level 3 Award.

Candidates can not use the same unit from each level towards their overarching award.
