Overview

As you may be aware, this qualification was due to expire on 31 May 2008. However, I am pleased to inform you that this date has now been extended for a further year to the following dates:
Last registration date: 31 October 2009
Last certification date: 31 October 2012

This qualification is intended for those who internally verify the NVQ Assessment Process. The candidate will be carrying out the following tasks:

  • Carrying out and evaluating internal assessment and quality assurance systems
  • Supporting assessors
  • Monitoring the quality of assessors' performance
  • Meeting external quality assurance requirements

To achieve the full award, candidates must achieve unit V1 from the Learning and Development National Occupational Standards 'Conduct Internal Quality Assurance of the Assessment Process'.

Like all NVQ unit-based awards, this qualification is competence-based. This means that it is linked to the candidate's ability to competently perform a range of tasks connected with their work. Candidates plan a programme of development and assessment with their assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove that they are competent and knowledgeable in their work role.

OCR offers a range of unit-based awards that reflect discrete roles in the delivery, assessment and verification process. OCR also offers NVQs in Learning and Development that develop and recognise the competency of staff working at all levels within this sector.
